Tuesday was our second day of the summer camp and also our first day in the "plugged in" workshops. We picked this group in order to learn more about media, like radio, and digital information. We found it really entertaining to spend time learning but also in a fun way: by drawing, playing games, doing some tasks in groups. I believe we had the most fun when we were describing our first impressions of the camp by doing a podcasts on the local radio. We got to feel like actual radio hosts in a silenced room recording an audition. We managed to get to know each other better and talk a little with our new colleagues by playing different games. For example: trying to flip a tart on which 20 people were standing. It was very fun and educational. Most of our workshops in the group are teaching us about ourselves, our identities and other psychological lessons in general. All in all it was an amazing day with amazing people, we are looking forward to our next workshops.

Exploring Self-Identity in the Children’s Village
Wednesday-the 9th of july was all about exploring our personal identities, but doing it together.
We kicked off the morning with some fun warm-up name games. Through laughter, movement, and a little bit of chaos, we got reminded each other’s names in creative ways, breaking the ice and laying the foundation for real connection.
Next, it was time to get behind the mic for our daily radio show! Sharing thoughts, stories and tips about the camp. As always, the show was a space for honesty, humor, creativity and great music.
Afterward, we turned to our hands and clay to express ourselves in a new language-sculpture. Each of us created a small clay figure that symbolized our identity. The results were great. Some sculptures were symbolic, others abstract, but each piece revealed something real. We later presented our creations in a mini-gallery walk that turned into a celebration of individuality through community.
This led into a deeper dive: the onion model of self-identity. Layer by layer, we reflected on how we see ourselves, from surface traits to deeper values and emotions. As we peeled back the metaphorical layers, we realized identity isn’t just one thing, it’s many things at once, and it keeps evolving.
To close the day, we wrote letters to our future selves. A message from who we are now, sent ahead to who we will become. The camp counselors will mail them to us in the future, and we can’t wait to see how far we’ve come by then.
Today was about connection within ourselves and with each other. We laughed, we sculpted, we reflected. And most importantly, we took time to truly see one another.
Last Thursday in the morning we had sex education and we learned stuff we didn’t know. This Workshop was held by other workshop leaders who are not working in the village. It was good that the girls and boys had separate workshops about this specific topic, like this we felt free to ask everything we want, without being embarassed by the boys.
Then back in the workshop we prepared a radioshow. We could choose the topic on our own. It was a very good show and because the weather was nice we ate lunch on the village square, that was really funny because like this we could eat all together and listen to the radioshow.
In the afternoon we had workshop time and we talked about how to be safe online. We learned a lot of things about cyberbulling and grooming. We even had to fill out a contract for ourselves that we know how to be safe online.
In the evening we sang karaoke and spent time with people from other workshops and even other nations. Its a lot of fun to meet new people and talk to them.
On friday, the 11th of july, we had a few interesting things to do. First of all, on our workshops we made short scenarios and acted them out. Whats more is that we could take props for the scenes, so some of us came in whole dresses. Second of all, after the workshops we went out and played table tennis, volleyball and table footbal. It was very integrational to play such sports with new people. Later that we could go to the youth club, where we could dye shirts, bags and socks. However the best part of the day was surely that we had kebab for dinner.
Our Moldovian group had an amazing trip through the beautiful places in Switzerland! We started at Rheinfall, Europe’s biggest waterfall. The view was incredible, and we took a boat that brought us super close, so that we were all damp. After that, we headed to Bodensee. The sun was shining, and the water looked like clear glass. Some of us walked along the shore, some dipped our feet, and a few even swam! Our last stop was St. Gallen. Our last stop was St. Gallen, where we explored the old town, saw the impressive cathedral and visited the famous Roter Platz with its red floor and unusual shapes. A perfect ending to a full and exciting day. Tired but happy, we came back with great memories and a lot of pictures.

“First, when we arrived at the workshop, we did a warm-up, and then we started preparing for the radio show. The topic of today’s radio show was fake news and Abigail’s Tale.
In our radio show, each group explained how we can protect ourselves from fake news, how it negatively affects us, and how to recognize it. We also included the example of the story we worked on about Abigail.
Over the next three days, each of us received a detox tracker to keep track of how much time we spent online, how we felt, and one positive habit we practiced instead. We also had to plan our own personal digital detox and stick to it.
One of the most interesting workshops today was when each of us had to create an example of what a healthy day of internet use looks like for us. There were many different answers and schedules, showing how differently we use social media and which apps we use the most.
At the end of the day, each group was assigned to create a collage and write a blog post about that day.”
